According to a statement issued by IIT Delhi on Friday, researchers at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi have developed a mobile robot known as “Robomuse 5.0.” This robot is capable of moving objects from one location to another and can carry loads weighing up to 100 kilograms. The robot is made in a way that makes it easy to control and move around. Through a partnership with the Technology Innovation Hub at IIT Delhi, Robomuse 5.0 technology has been licensed to SVR InfoTech, a Pune-based company. The robot was created as a student project for the Doordarshan-Robocon (DDR) competition in 2008 by students at IIT Delhi. Since then, it has undergone various modifications. After that, the robot was put in the institute’s Student Activity Center (SAC) and left there to operate on its own for 24 hours before it was reported to be broken.
